I shared your article with three other law school classmates, as one person in the group had just visited Mexico during day of the dead celebrations. All thought it was terrific and a welcome perspective

And your article sparked a whole discussion within the group about death and dying, as two of us in the group have

lost spouses to a terminal illness. And one of the other members asked the following question which we weren’t sure was answered by your article: given your community’s relationship with death and the departed, do the members of it still nonetheless fear death?

I think it's safe to say that, yes, many people here still fear death. But the Day of the Dead plays an important role in changing the overall perspective of death here to a natural part of life to be accepted and celebrated. Whatever the situation, things tend to go a lot smoother when we accept and trust. Avoidance and fear don't benefit us. They only breed tension and disrupt energy. Thanks for the question!
